Patricia Munroe

Patricia Munroe is a member of the California Bar, specializing in in-house law department management, technology, and commercial real estate. She has a Juris Doctor from Brigham Young University law school where she was a merit scholarship recipient, editor of the Journal of Public Law, and winner of the Woody Deem Trial Advocacy Award and Trial Team Board Member. She had a single goal of being a “hi-tech corporate attorney” and has been in-house counsel to several technology companies including Fujitsu, Printrak International, Newport Corporation, and Toshiba America Information Systems. She also has extensive real estate experience, with a specialty in commercial real estate leasing, and was the primary attorney on the $90M construction of the Indio law building, and the $30M sale of the Press Enterprise building.

Patricia has strong written and oral skills, excellent negotiation skills, and effective legal department management, with a successful track record of reducing outside legal expenses. With extensive contract experience, she has handled thousands of agreements, including software licensing, VAR, OEM, sales, service, requests for proposal, website terms, privacy policies, and asset purchase. Patricia traveled to the following countries to negotiate contracts and conduct due diligence: England, Scotland, Sweden, and Ireland. She has managed complex litigation in connection with litigation counsel involving intellectual property infringement, breach of contract, employment, and shareholder suits. Patricia structured and implemented first legal departments in two companies whose revenues exceeded $100 and $250 million.

Patricia handled litigation, law and motion, and over 14 appeals for the County of Riverside, and has two published opinions: People v. Indiana Lumbermens Mut. Ins. Co., (2011) 194 Cal.App.4th 45; People v. Safety Nat. Cas. Corp., (2010) 186 Cal.App.4th 959.
